Don't get scared Sue, I'm talking about the movie THE Hangover not the current state I am in right now. The Hangover came out June 2009 ironically the same weekend of my sisters wedding. I will say it right now, it's one of my top 5 movies of all time. I actually bought the DVD and I never buy DVDs. I don't understand people who buy like hundreds of DVDs. Even for a good movie after watching it once or twice I'm good to go. I'm never going to wake up on a lazy Tuesday afternoon and pop in the Godfather trilogy. Buying DVDs are a waste....except for The Hangover which is a great movie. I love everything about it from Bradley Coopers hair, to the Holocaust jokes, to the dentist jokes. But by fair and away the best character and all around best actor is Ed Helms. Screw Will Ferrell taking over the Office, give the role to Helms. Also, this movie helps me when I travel home on the damn BoltBus. Without this movie ever being made I could never survive. When I was in DC a year or so ago I watched it with my dad and when Bradley Coopers character is making fun of Helms character for being a dentist which Cooper says really isn't a real doctor, I of course break out in hysteria. My dad, being proud of his D.D.S. title didn't get the joke. I told him I'll explain it to him when he's a little older. Then he grumbled something about how I don't know the value of a dollar...ehh lets not get into that right now.
Anyways, the reason I'm so giddy is that the billboards and trailers are now in full swing for the Memorial release of the Hangover Part 2! Literally within three second and two words I was dying laughing. Sequels are never as good as the original but I still can not wait. I think the reason I love these movies so much is because it shows the best part of marriage...the bachelor party. If I ever become dumb enough to get married I'm going to make sure I have the best damn bach party around and definitely have it the night before the wedding like they do in movies. None of this two months out bullshit. Its also really really depressing when you see these poor bastards having their bach parties in Murray Hill at like Joshua Tree or Tonic. I would never step foot in there on a Monday night, let alone for a bachelor party. The only acceptable place to have a bachelor party in the city is Lavo otherwise you go to Vegas, New Orleans, Montreal, or Amsterdam. End of discussion. If I ever decide to have my first bachelor party in either New York or worse, Atlantic City, please just shoot me in the face. Thanks.
To be honest with you the most exciting part of the Hangover Part 2 is going to be the DVD release. Now I'll have new and exciting material on the five hour bus ride home. Amtrak? What? Must be nice to have that Amtrak money. Not me, "Hey, I'm Retired at 28!"
Enjoy:
