I know, I know I've already blogged about the Knicks but the playoffs is a whole new season. The Knicks and the city of New York are a perfect match. Both are expensive, saturated with celebrities, and overrated. C'mon, I love New York but its not the most practical place to live. BUT on the flip side they are both fun as hell. Tomorrow night is the first playoff game at the Garden since spring '04. I moved up to the Big Apple in the fall of '04, so I have never experienced playoff basketball in this town. I always thought New York was a baseball town first and for most, Yankees through and through, but the more I talk to native New Yorkers the Knicks are the top billing. Maybe its because they actually play in the city, and not the Bronx, or maybe because you can see the stars sitting court side, but whatever it is Friday nights ticket is the toughest around. The place is gonna be rocking and I will be right there....
Ha ha, no, I'm not going to the game but I'm going to get as damn close as possible. A few of us are going to hit up the bars surrounding the Garden to take advantage of the Knicks drinks specials during the game. You can call me a bandwagon fan or a lame New Yorker but I don't care. I've rooted for enough loser DC teams in my life. I have the right to do this. Anyways, the Knicks will probably lose tomorrow and get bounced from the playoffs Sunday and then normalcy will return back to the city of New York. But one thing will stay for sure..."Hey, I'm Retired at 28!"
